- Located near Spittal in Caithness
- Replacing the existing 21 turbines with up to 7 turbines with a maximum tip height of 200 metres
- Will include associated infrastructure – internal access roads, on-site substations, borrow pits
- Potential battery storage system will store energy produced so the wind farm provides electricity to the National Grid even when the wind is not blowing
- Will provide funding to local communities
- Extensive environmental and ornithology surveys underway
- Public exhibitions will be carried out to share the plans with local communities and gather their feedback
- As the installed capacity of the wind farm will be 49 MW our planning application will be made under the Town and Country Planning act and will be determined by the local authority.
